I have recently come into a piece of equipment ( I bought it at
auction), and I dont know what it is exactly, I bought it in a job lot
marked as box of radios.
The set is obviously a mobile (car) transceiver, the only name on it is
SMC 2520. It has a large LCD display on the front, and a 4 x 4 button
matrix on the right side of the front.
On the back is a plate marked SMC 2520, VHF BAND 3 TRANSCEIVER.
This unit meets MPT 1323 and complies with MPT 1327 and MPT 1343.
Manufactured in the UK.
It also has a standard PL259 socket on the back for an antenna.
What I need to know is what freequencies does this radio operate on
(or band - ? frequency of band 3), and who if not ham's would use such
a radio.
All answers can be e-mailed to me, unless the answer is of any interest to this group.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think, therefore I am not, or am I.
A bird in the hand, deserves a poke in the bush.

Here is the address: Wm. M. Nye Co. Inc. as of 6/92
12031 Northup Way #101
Bellevue, WA 98005
I sent my MB-V-A in for service once and they did a good job for me. $57
out of warranty charge plus $8 freight. Howver, the prooblem has come
back and I'm not using the tuner now. Problem is with switch contacts
sticking open. I think I can fix this myself now that I know what is
wrong.
Should you need me to copy the manual, I can do that; its only a few pages.

Does anyone have the MARS/CAP mod for the Icom Delta-1A? I saw a mod
that will open the heck out of it, but I don't want to do that. I just
want to be able to transmit all the way down to 420MHz. I'm a control
op on two different intertie systems and it would be handy to be able
to come in through our link frequencies. So, MARS/CAP info is what I need.
Help, please!

I've looked in oak.oakland but I found none.
Thanks !
